Actors (you, too, are “dramatists”), what is your relationship with the audience?
Posted by echan76 under Theater & Acting
Me asked:
How has it affected you?
Does it effect you?
(Never could get those two straight.)
How do you work at it?
Do you work at it, at all?
Does the relationship affect your interpretation of the material you’re working on?
Does the dictum ,”the customer is always right,” enter into your acting choices?

The audience is the only net there to catch what you are trying to say, or express. They can make you fall, they can make you laugh, they take everything that happens and heighten it for you. Acting even without an audience is wonderful, but the audience is what makes it beautiful. It is not always your job to please them, or appease them, or be exactly what they would like you to be, but it is your job to allow them to share it with you.
